The Houston Philmont Project Advisor Team

Lead Advisor
Guy Parker
One of the original founders of the project, Mr. Parker has been involved in Scouting for over 70 years. Mr. Parker is a proud Eagle Scout and has served in various roles as an adult advisor. He has completed 99 Philmont treks and is an avid outdoorsman. He prophesizes about ultra-light gear, except when it comes to tent size apparently.

Lead Advisor & Head Cheerleader
Stephen Hankins
Mr. Hankins has been involved in Scouting for over 50 years and has served in various roles as an adult advisor. He is currently an Assistant Scoutmaster with Troop 1852 in Missouri City. He is a proud Navy Veteran, avid backpacker, and has completed 42 Philmont treks. He is also an honorary Ranger Bell ringer.

Assistant Advisor & Technical Support
Russ Boullion
Mr. Boullion is a proud Eagle Scout and has been involved in Scouting for over 40 years. As an adult, he has served as Scoutmaster, Assistant Scoutmaster, and Crew Advisor. Mr. Boullion has completed 5 Philmont treks, including 2 as a youth where he was crew leader. He has also lead a crew to the Charles L. Sumner canoe base in Ely, MN. If you somehow lose him on the trail, just follow the smell of fresh brewed coffee.

Assistant Advisor & Quartermaster
Mike Schulz
Mr. Schulz has been involved in Scouting for over 50 years. In addition to serving as a HPP advisor, he is also very active in the SHAC International Scouting. Mr. Schulz has completed 10 Philmont treks and apparently loves horses - or at least this one that he met near Maxwell on his last trek.
